If you’re looking for a dishwasher with a larger-than-average capacity, the GE Profile 24″ PDWF480PSS built-in stainless steel dishwasher certainly fits the bill. It can hold up to 16 place settings, making it roomier than more expensive models I’ve seen.
The latest SmartDispense Technology of the GE Profile PDWF480PSS stainless steel dishwasher certainly comes in handy as it can hold up to two months of liquid dishwasher detergent and automatically dispenses the right amount based on water hardness and soil levels to get dishes incredibly clean.

This GE Profile PDWF480PSS Stainless Steel model also does an adequate job of cleaning everything that is packed into it. Because it has a built-in food disposal, you don’t really have to manually rinse the dishware before placing it into the dishwasher. And you will absolutely be pleased with the results — the food disposal is very effective. It prevents food particles from being re-deposited on dishware during the wash cycle.
Plus, it has an adjustable top rack and adjustable bottom rack to accommodate oversized or odd-shaped items. The “adjustable” feature comes into play when the rack tines are folded. The bottom rack in particular is quite versatile; all of the tines fold flat. Even the standard cutlery tray is adjustable and can be moved to various locations within the dishwasher’s interior.

16 Place Settings – The dishwasher can hold up to
16 place settings in a single load to get more
dishes done at one time.
This model has three full-size wash arms and six spray levels, which seemed to make a difference. An internal heater creates temperatures up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit and an internal water filtration system allows the dishwasher to use filtered water.
My only complaints: the GE Profile PDWF480PSS Stainless Steel dishwasher lacks the deep clean cycle that utilizes steam to loosen tough soils, like eggs, oatmeal and rice. Therefore, for dishes that are stuck with stains like soils and eggs, you might have to manually scrub them off first before loading the dishware into the dishwasher.
The GE Profile PDWF480PSS stainless steel dishwasher has five wash cycles, including a normal wash cycle, an NSF-certified rinse to fight germs and bacteria, a rinse-only setting and a hand or gentle setting for crystal and china. This model is the stainless steel version and costs about $100 more than models with a colored exterior. This model also comes in black, bisque or white.

Hand/Gentle Cycle – Extra security.
Using less heat allows the gentle cleaning
of delicate items that would normally require
hand washing.
The stainless steel model has an exterior control panel atop the front that is trimmed in black. The controls are pushbutton and there is a child-lock to prevent unwanted changes. Overall, the GE Profile PDWF480PSS stainless steel dishwasher is a solid performer and its stainless steel exterior lends a luxury appeal.
Pros: SmartDispense Technology that comes in handy, equipped with food disposal, adjustable racks, large capacity up to 16 place setting and energy star rating.
Cons: Lack the deep clean cycle that utilizes steam to loosen tough soils, like eggs, oatmeal and rice.

I never really liked GE Dishwashers but coming across this blog review really made me think twice. The comparison between this and Bosch Dishwashers though is really under value. I think what the GE does the Bosch does better. Yes Bosch Dishwashers will cost you the price of a small compact car in some cases (used car that is) but its worth it. Overall I thought your break down of this GE Profile 24″ PDWF480PSS was honest and thorough.
There is no denying its capacity for loading it up and washing them down! Nice review keep them coming!
